Time of Day Email Users Read Personal Email and Best Subject Lines
After reading the eMarketer August 2013 report, “Email Benchmarks: Key Metrics and Trends for 2013,” I found three useful stats with the first above showing the top five weekly digital activities as well as the time spent on that activity:
1. Email at almost eight hours
2. Facebook at almost seven hours
3. Skype at almost six hours
4. Text/SMS at five hours
5. YouTube at five hours
The second finding is the time of day where users read email with throughout the day getting the largest share.
Free Delivery, Alert, News and iPad are the top four email subject lines that get the highest open and click rates.
